I've never bought cleaning before. How do I know what to pay?

Ask us. Go to /quote — no account needed — and tell us what kind of space it is, roughly how big, and how often you need it. The page shows the typical range for a space like yours straight away, and a written quote follows within five business days (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm ET). The range is a starting point, not a final price: we confirm that once we've looked at your space. Works for a business (office, salon, clinic, restaurant, gym, retail), a home, or a short-term rental — a home is priced by its bedrooms and bathrooms rather than its floor area.

You've sent me a quote. What happens if I say yes?

Sign in with the email address that received the quote and it will be waiting on your dashboard. Choose a single clean or a standing schedule, then add the service address. Nothing is charged when you accept. Once a cleaner takes the work, you review their profile and add your card to confirm. Quotes stay current for 30 days.

How do I post a cleaning job?

Add the place, then choose Post a clean. Set the date, time, price, and room checklist. Eligible cleaners can then see the work in the open list.

How does the 48-hour payment window work?

The 48-hour window starts when the cleaner finishes. Review the checklist, photos, and messages. You can approve payment early, do nothing and let it release automatically, or ask us to review a problem.

Owners pay our 10% charge on top of the cleaning price, plus 13% HST on our charge. On a $150 clean, the owner total is $166.95: $150 to the cleaner, $15 to CleanConnect, and $1.95 HST. The receipt shows each amount.

How does iCal sync work?

Add your Airbnb or VRBO iCal URL to your property settings — when you first add the property, or any time afterwards from its Edit page. Set a default turnover price as well, since a checkout date with no price can't become a job. Our system then checks for upcoming guest checkout dates and automatically creates turnover cleaning jobs for each one. You can also hit "Check calendar now" manually at any time. This means your cleaning schedule stays in sync with your bookings without any manual effort.

Is my property address kept private?

Yes. Cleaners browsing open work see only the city. The cleaner who takes it sees the street name. The house or unit number appears on the service day, and entry details unlock only when that cleaner is near the property.

What are urgent jobs and what do they cost?

Work posted with less than 48 hours' notice includes a 20% urgent premium in the cleaner's earnings. Our 10% charge and HST are calculated on the full earnings amount. Eligible on-call cleaners are notified first.

Can I book the same cleaner for future jobs?

Yes. Invite a cleaner directly, or set them as preferred for a place. Your preferred cleaner gets 24 hours to respond; each backup gets 12 hours before the clean opens to other eligible cleaners.

Do I get a receipt for tax purposes?

Yes. Each completed clean has a printable receipt showing the cleaning price, our 10% charge, and HST on our charge. It is available after payment releases.

There is no commission or subscription. You keep the full posted cleaning price. If you need background screening for work inside homes, the screening itself currently costs $31.99.

How do I get paid?

Connect a Canadian bank account in payout setup. After the 48-hour review closes, or the owner approves early, the money moves to your payout balance. Standard bank deposits typically take 1–3 business days.

What is the on-call program?

The on-call program is an opt-in feature for cleaners who are available for urgent, last-minute jobs (less than 48 hours' notice). On-call cleaners get notified first when an urgent job posts in their city and automatically earn a 20% premium on every urgent job they complete. You can toggle on-call status on or off anytime from your settings.

Can I get paid faster than 48 hours?

Yes — the owner can release payment early with one click if they're happy before the 48 hours is up. Once payment has been released, instant payout can move it to your bank faster for a small fee. Instant payout does not shorten the 48-hour review window itself.

What is the Canadian tax export?

Download a yearly CSV from Earnings. It includes completed work, tips, recurring-plan income, late-cancellation fees, and the charges the client paid on top. It is an earnings record; ask your accountant how to use it for your return.

How do I build my reputation on the platform?

Owners and cleaners can review each other after completed work. Your rating, completed-job count, and reviews appear on your public profile so future clients can make an informed choice.

What happens if I need to cancel a job?

Open the clean and give a reason for cancelling. If there is no card hold yet, no money is involved. If a hold is already in place, it is cancelled and the owner is not charged. Use Release this clean when you only need to return it to the open list.

Do I need to be incorporated or have a business?

No. Individual independent cleaners are welcome. You are responsible for your own tax obligations as a self-employed person in Canada, including registering for HST/GST if your annual earnings exceed the CRA threshold ($30,000).

What safety tools do I have while working?

Your safety tools switch on when you start a clean and switch off when you finish it. While the job is in progress the app can track your location; sharing it with your contacts is off by default — you turn it on with Share my live location on the job screen, and it stays on until you stop it or finish the job. We keep only your latest location, never a history. Contacts you save can then watch a live map, an "I belong here" pass lets you prove a booking is real to a neighbour or officer, and a safety alert button opens your phone on 911 and texts your contacts. Set up contacts under Profile → Personal safety. One honest note: the safety button does not call 911 for you, and live location works only while your phone is unlocked and the job screen is open — in an emergency, call 911 directly.

When does payment actually get charged to the owner?

A temporary hold appears on the owner's card when they confirm the booking. The charge is taken after the 48-hour review closes, or sooner if the owner approves it. If the booking is cancelled before payment, the hold is removed.

Visa, Mastercard, and Amex credit or debit cards are accepted. Apple Pay and Google Pay are available in supported browsers. For jobs booked through CleanConnect we do not accept e-Transfer or cash. If you and your cleaner arranged the work yourselves and brought it here, you pay them directly as you already do — we do not handle that payment.

What if the owner's payment fails?

The booking is not confirmed if the owner's card does not go through. The owner can try the card again, and the cleaner should wait until the app says the clean is confirmed before starting.
